Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some commonly asked questions. If you have any additional questions then don’t hesitate in contacting us.

I am in need of a wheelchair. How do I apply?

We are currently concentrating on one district in the Philippines and are unable to respond to requests from other districts or countries.

Is Wheelchairs For The World a registered Charity in the UK?

No, we are not a registered charity.

Donations will be used by our National Directors to locate suitable applicants, verify their completed application form and buy the equipment from a regular medical supplier in the country concerned.

How will recipients receive their wheelchairs?

Each applicant will complete an application form giving full details of their disability. This will be approved first by our Project Director then by the Founder Geoff Bone. After approval the order will be placed with a medical supplier who will deliver the wheelchair to the recipient. This will ensure that no money is used for any other purpose than the provision of the equipment needed.

I want to help raise funds. How do I go about this?

You first need to contact Head Office and gain permission to use our name. After that you can use any legal and ethical method to raise funds on a volunteer basis. Funds raised can be donated in the usual manner. No expenses are paid to fundraisers and any activity must comply with local laws.
